One review suggests it can but the previous answer says base.** A: Possibly the terms 'back' and 'base' might be interpreted differently depending on what orientation it's used in. I installed this a while ago but as far as I can remember the only access for the cable is on the opposite face to the coax socket and not from behind when it's fixed to a wall. In other words, it's not possible for the unit to conceal a cable emerging from a wall or skirting board, for example. **Q: Installation instructions** A: The socket screws onto the wall or even the skirting board if you like. If you're looking for one of these, no reason NOT to grab this one.
