This is an amazing product for small children. We decided against the gro clock because as my husband pointed out you don't want blue light at night as blue light is the most likely to stimulate waking. Sam is red at night which is the recommendation for night light as least disturbing... Turns orange half an hour before and green when toddler can leave their bed. At night time Sam closes his eyes and opens them when it's time to wake them up.If you have a problem with a child who is being cheeky and getting out even though they know they shouldn't you are going to have to obviously do more work training your child and use Sam as a tool to help you achieve this. If you just have a child who sometimes wakes early and is unsure of when they should get up its an instant silver bullet as child wakes up, glances at Sam and instantly knows whether they should be trying to get back to sleep, wait for a little while (my son listens to a toni) or can immediately get up.Bottom line: we love it. Well worth the money.

The 3 colour settings are easy for daughter to understand (although sticking to them is proving a bit more of a challenge!). It’s a bit tricky to set up the clock and occasionally she’s somehow managed to override it and make it go green before get-up time. But generally it’s a really good nightlight with a range of brightness settings which can either be left on all night or automatic switch off after set periods of time. Sam’s eyes open when it’s time to get up.

Not the easiest to set up but ok. Batteries lasted longer than some other reviews. Very cute and initially much loved. But just randomly decides it’s daytime at night and vice versa. Very frustrating and confusing for my young daughter who is just learning to stay in bed at night, and can’t yet tell the time. Two months in and we’re looking to replace it - definitely not with the same again.
