They have a bit of an odor that goes away gradually without fabric spray, but I sprayed anyway to hasten the process. One bottom was missing, but I replaced it with the bottom of an old one I was pitching. If up off the ground six inches or so they don't collect dust , I have had these last for five years or more the I changed color scheme. They add a lot of color for a little money. You can find these for $6. a piece in stores, so its a great value. Three of the bins hold STEM learning toys. One bin has science experiment tools: beakers, droppers, etc. The last two, has paper, small notebooks, and other small crap she just needed to hide from a bookshelf.
