Broadcom (Widcomm) software doesn't recognise the dongle. It does not work on Windows 8 x64 unless the Bluesoleil application sofware is installed. Without it, although Windows installs device drivers, a simple task such as transfering a photo from a smartphone cannot be accomplished. The supplied software is version 8.x.x.x whereas the current version is 10.x.x.x.One star for wasting my time.Update:The product description (now redacted) better describes the rival "Plugable" dongle. Better adapter for few pennies more. Reviewed on YouTube. :). Don't waste time on these monkeys.Update2:Since posting this the seller has changed the description on Amazon so that it no longer claims to be a Broadcom device. Although the same claims are still being made on their own website.Update3:The seller (7Dayshop) got Amazon to remove my negative feedback on the grounds that it was a product review and not feedback. Software DVD label and packaging no help whatsoever with guidance to setting up this unit.. but available pdf instruction download could and should have been included . I'm running 64bit Win7.However, this is an evaluation copy only, and requires you to register it using a serial number.
