The foam padding is apparently supposed to lay on top of your keyboard, but for my purposes I find this annoying because every time I open the case it falls down on top of the keyboard because it is not secured to the case. Perhaps if you are travelling with it you might want it this way, but for me I keep it on a table in my home studio so I put the foam pad on the bottom of my keyboard where it stands put. I am only interested in storing it and keeping it dust proof. If your going to be constantly travelling with it, you might want a better one as this case is only semi-rigid. But if you want a shock proof case be prepared to spend a lot more.
