I managed to get it to use as my window 10 password but what else will** A: you've done better than me then , it did all sorts of things pre win 10 . in the beginning of win 10 it worked to login. now it win 10 doesn't recognise it and kept crashing my pc. i haven't tried it since updates. **Q: Does it assign a serial to a specific finger print?** A: win 8 and 10 you can assign as many different finger to any login. or just 1 to any particular login. not sure if this answers the question you are asking as I'm not sure what you mean by serial. **Q: Is it compatible with Ubuntu 18.04 or 19.10?** A: Hello - I've never tested it on Ubuntu but it does state in the technical detail that it works on the following OS Windows 10 / 8.1 / 8 / 7, Windows Server 2016 / 2012 / 2008 R2, Android 3.1 and above, Linux Hope that helps ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Quality, quick and accurate. *by M***L on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 July 2016* I was looking for a cheap fingerprint reader but most of them seem to be unsupported on modern OS's these days so I didn't buy one. The SecuGen reader is a bit expensive but it's a quality item. Just place your finger on the sensor and it reads it instantly. It's very precise and always works first time. There were no drivers included with the product but I downloaded and installed them from the SecuGen website when I ordered it so when the item arrived I just plugged it in and it worked straight away. I use Windows 10 64 bit and to setup the fingerprint recognition I went to Start Menu, Settings, Accounts, Sign-in Options. I had to add a PIN to my account but after that I could click "Setup" in the Fingerprint section of Windows Hello to record my fingerprints. I also use RoboForm to records logins and passwords to websites and the scanner work with that product too. All in all I'm very happy with it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars works with win 8 eventually *by K***R on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 10 October 2013* Took a while to get it to work on win8 but with the help of idency and lots of searching eventually got it to work. You have to download the drivers from the Secugen website and follow their instructions. Got it to work with HP Winpass v12 on my Hp envy 23 touchscreen. Only thing that I haven't sorted is the login screen. It was working then it stopped . Not sure why yet.
