It is packed with creative ideas which fall 'outside the box', and which upturn concepts of art-making, making a book which opens up the imagination and frees up creative experimentation. I am studying art as therapy, and I feel that each page of the Anti Journal has imagination-inspiring and thought-provoking themes which are ideal for helping an individual through tough times or 'dips' in wellbeing, in a non-invasive and gently directive way. The best thing about the book is that there are no rules, and the idea is that it will be a little messy - it doesn't have to look aesthetically pleasing. However, the owner may feel that it should be ornately decorative. The choice is entirely down to the owner of the book, and there is no pressure for it to look good or requirements for artistic ability. There are ways to share the images with social media communities, yet the book can also be kept completely private as a journal's intended purpose: it is for a journey of self discovery, play, and general enjoyment. I think each page turns negative to positive, and the concepts seem sensitively thought out to be uplifting for the intended audience (an audience which could, in fact, span all ages). I highly recommend this book to everyone (not just artists/creatives) and it's a great gift for someone in need of a pick-me-up. Also, I recommend to anyone interested in creativity/art as therapy, as a tool for ideas and own-experiments. Over 10 years ago I gained a BA Honours Degree in Fine Art and since then life and work got in the way of my creative side. I missed it and made it my New Years Resolution to get back into art. I stumbled across this book and ordered 2, one for me and one for a friend. I love it! You don't need to be trained in art or anything like that to enjoy this book. Each page has an instruction which is open to interpretation. The only limit is your imagination. I will put a warning on this! It is highly addictive and I find myself dipping into a page or two most days (or 3 or 4). I once burnt the dinner as I was distracted throwing paint about! Despite this I wouldn't be without this book! Not sure what I'll do once its finished. I have recommended it to everyone I know! It's been a long time since I picke up a paintbrush or drawing pencil, too intimidated by a blank page. But this book gives you so many prompts you can't help all the ideas that start flowing! There are pages you can do in a few minutes and pages you can lose yourself in for hours if you want to, it's a perfect book to use as art therapy as it gets the creativity flowing and can't help but put a smile on your face!I have seen this book compared to wreck this journal (which I also own) and while they are both the same genre of book I don't think its right to compare them, this is a great book in its own right with cometely different pages and prompts.
