Do not cut wires from old switch, but remove by inserting blade of very small screwdriver next to wire and pulling out. Then insert the tinned wires in the same order as removed into the new switch." (If you cut the wire you will lose the stiff tinned end and make it difficult to insert into the new switch unless you strip and re-tin it again with a soldering iron).

Exact replacement but would be improved with instruction sheet for use as replacement: "Do not cut wires from old switch, but remove by inserting blade of very small screwdriver next to wire and pulling out. After 13 years, the pull-chain switch for the fan broke, and a call to Hunter Fan confirmed they no longer manufacture the full switch housing assembly (which is what they'd like you to replace, not just the switch). A few YouTube videos and a study of several Amazon reviews, and I purchased this part. Took the fan apart this morning to find the exact same switch inside!  As suggested, I took a photo so I could put the right wires back in the right slots, and it was incredibly easy. The only hold up - I had to take the old switch apart to get the wires out, but even that was easy (used a small screwdriver to pry open the tabs holding the green to the black). Works like a charm, and so much cheaper than a new fan!
