The default I believe is 2 mins. You need to understand the type of battery system you are charging, (AMG/lead acid), establish what is considered fully charged for that system ie. 12.4v and then a hold would be set we use 10 mins.. Pull the set up manual off the web and you find out how complex this unit really is . **Q: Does this come with any other items, like a harness? Are any other pieces needed to upgrade my generator?** A: You have to buy or make the pig tail then there are a few other items to consider for it like a step down transformer to sense the Shore power. All the wiring is on you also. It's a lot of work to get it working correctly. I believe there were 20 wires to connect to the A/C units to sense weather they are calling for heat or cooling, battery connections to sense low batteries, Start and stop for the generator set, power sensors for the Shore power through the step down transformer, Ignition position sensor (On and Off) and parking brake sensor. . It took me about three days to install it but it works great when installed correctly. The support for this is top notch from Onan. I have 30 years of mechanical and electrical experience and I had my share of problems. A side note,,,,if you wire it wrong and have a melt down it's not covered by Onan !
