I had a new deck installed this summer and I can't access the 4x4s underneath for mounting so temporarily I've attached it to the lattice that's outside the deck. I don't want to attach it to the actual posts on the main part of the deck because they're made of aluminum and I don't want to damage them. I may try installing at a few different locations until I find the perfect spot! We have animals that roam the yard at night and I'm trying to get them on video so I needed to mount the camera lower to the ground. Once I get the right location, I'll make sure to tighten the clamp more (it was a very cold & windy day when I was installing this and my fingers were numb trying to get that clamp tightened), it has a little wiggle room but it doesn't actually move unless you move it by hand. Its just hard trying to put the screws back in once you position the camera in place but so far, so good. And the camera is steady!
