I've used two others, one a small orla kiely and the other a "small" L.L. Bean hanging bag. This is by far my favorite for travel due to it's weight, size, and quality. You'll love this if you're a minimalist. Wish the side pockets were see-through (not a big deal but I always open the wrong side).Weight: Super lightweight and durable! I have an orla kiely bag I love but it's bulky and heavy, meaning when I travel carry-on only, it doesn't make the cut. This case weights practically nothing but provides a lot of space.Quality: It's Eagle Creek. I've thrown all kinds of crap in it and abused it with no damage. I love Eagle Creek products.Pockets: It holds a ton of stuff. I divide the bag as follows: exterior pockets for dental and makeup, the center pocket for lager items. The side pockets are virtually useless, so chose your items carefully. My Violife toothbrush, floss, and toothy tabs filled a side pocket pretty well; it can fit a little more but not much. For makeup, one or two Colorstay lipcolors, a small eyeshadow set, brow pencil, eyeliner, and lip gloss will all fit in the side pocket but it'll be tight. If you use a lot of products or bulky items, you'll have to keep them in the center. The center pocket is large but wide, meaning you'll have to shuffle through all your items which is annoying but worth it for the lightness of the case. For me, the center typically contains my retainer, extra hair clips, meds, bandaids, and any other random items I need. If you need a lot of medication, only take what you need for your trip and use a pill container.Structure: As mentioned above, my favorite toiletry bag is a small, two pocket version by orla kiely that's sadly discontinued. It's very structured and has several useful built in pockets, making it very easy to find things. I wish this bag was slightly taller and a bit more structured. The problem with its shortness is that the side pockets are very small and the center pocket is very floppy. I really hate digging through the center pocket. The zipper opening is nice but also allows items to fall out rather easily. If you're in a small bathroom, be careful opening it.* Improvements: (1) reduce how far the center compartment opens, thus allowing more support on the narrow sides; (2) make one or both side pockets expandable into the center (like on duffle bags); (3) a mesh pocket on one side of the center pocket to keep a few items in place.Everyday Use: The lack of structure means I don't use this daily, only when I need to pack light. It would be great for going to the gym, weekend trips, or if you don't use much makeup. For years I carried a hang up toiletry bag filled with everything I would need when I check in for the night. Just open it up and hang it. Life changes and now I am retired and trips have turned from sales meeting to cruises. I get to my cabin and unload all my stuff into draws or shelves in the bathroom. I don't need everything hanging on the wall. Now it is a problem of luggage space. The hang up toiletry bag itself takes up a lot of room even empty. Last cruise I took stuff that I didn't have room for in my hang up bag so I got my Eagle Creek toiletry bag out of my tote of my other Eagle Creek bags and used it for the overflow. I don't even know why I bought it years ago other than I love Eagle Creek products. This got me thinking that I could carry everything in two Eagle Creek bags. The bags themselves take up no room. with them filled you can stuff them where the is a space.
