Correct?** A: Hi, no the tabs on the insert plus screws that you back out on the edge create a nice tight fit without the need for a lock. **Q: I’m using dewalt 7492. will I be able to use my guard/splitter or need to install another one ?** A: You would have to cut a slot in the back to make room for the splitter. You could do that with a hand saw or figure out another tool, or you could get the splitter kit from microjig. You could also drill a hole behind the blade slot, and insert a dowel that’s no wider than the blade, to give you some sort of splitter. I made the big mistake of purchasing a dado throat plate from Dewalt and it was a complete waste of money. It flexed big time and ruined cut after cut. This DW-3 Zero-Clearance Dado insert from Leecraft if EVERYTHING the Dewalt one is NOT! The Leecraft is made from very high-quality materials, it is solid, and fits perfectly! Works great! *by B***R on February 6, 2018* Love it! Love the color, love the setup! LOVE IT!I was working with 1/2" Baltic Birch and having terrible tear out so I purchased this and a Diablo D1060X blade. These two combine made BEAUTIFUL cuts!As for fitment, it was a bit touch and go at first and took me a little longer than I expected it to take but I finally got it within 5-10mins. This was also my first time doing this so that could have been a factor. The Adjusters are Flat Head Phillips head screws, I would have preferred Hex head but that’s just my preference. I also would have preferred a physical locking mechanism in the front side instead of just a pressure fitment. There are 4 leveling screws as per the Dewalt design and then two pressure fitting screws on the front and right side of the insert.Lastly, I saw on the DW-2, there were concerns with a cutout to clear the arbor and space to put in the riving blade. There is a cutout for the arbor to clear the insert and all I had to do for the riving blade was set it on my saw blade upside down, short side towards fence, bring the fence up to it and lock it in. Then remove it, install the old insert and then the insert like a normal piece of wood until the slot extended to the end of the insert. With that, the insert fits over the riving bladed just fine. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ well made , much better than expected *by R***D on June 20, 2024* this is made of some composite material that has a good weight to it . it has adjustment screws on bottom and edges so you can turn them out until it sits perfectly flush to your table and also fits nice and snug. I recommend you adjust accordingly before raising your blade thru the throat.
