It's small enough that it's easy to travel with, but still strong enough to hold a big rig like mine. Also, even just using an NP-F750, the slider lasts a long time. I've haven't had to worry about the battery on all-day shoots. There are really only a couple cons. One, you can't easily manually slide to set start/end points.
