My project this time was to dye some white sheets a plum color and it worked wonderfully. I added half a bottle of black to 2 bottles of the purple, let the sheets soak in the washer for two hours and got amazing results. If you're going for a dark color, use more dye and let it soak longer for the best results. And don't forget the salt! MAKE SURE YOU READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! Also, I always use RIT when I can't find the exact color i want. RIT seems to have them all. Review: Dye to die for - I have used Rit Dye for many years. I would do “batik” projects with my children and grandchildren, and tie-dye projects with them. Now I use it to “freshen up” clothes that have become faded but are still definitely wearable. While this worked on areas that weren't that badly stripped, it did not cover the worst damage.
