I bought this to use as a footstool with my camp chair.  It's fine for that purpose.  It is definitely NOT comfortable to sit on.  It's pretty small and at its most comfortable as seating if you sit spraddled across it with legs to the side.  Not really a comfy seating position.  If I were backpacking and this was all I could carry, it might work if I had knees that couldn't handle getting up and down off the ground.  Otherwise it's useful as a footstool.
