I have a Streamlight Survivor that has the nickel cad battier and the lithium ion AA battery pack.The advantage of using the lithium ion AA battery is the weight of the light is lighter and the runtime is longer. Hope this helps.

it says it is approved for methane air mixture. i think this is what you find in the mines ? i use mine for the fire service which it also states it is approved for that.
