Yes, MSR advertises this product as BPA-free. **Q: Is this made in the usa or china?** A: I dont think it says on the board. but if it is made in USA dont use it, frame it and hang it on the wall because it is rare item. **Q: Could this be easily cut in half? Only need it to cut cheese and salami while backpacking, for lunches.** A: It’s very small already but you could cut it in half along the seem. It won’t take up any less room in your pack though. **Q: Can you store stuff in it when closed?** A: Other than a recipe card, not really.
