You may want to keep them separated until you use them or you will need force to separate them. **Q: Has anyone used these for shirts?** A: Too big. These are more suited for large bags/totes/heavy products. **Q: Would this work for someone who doesn't have strong hands? My son has trouble with regular buttons and snaps.** A: Probably, but if you used several of them to replace buttons they would be bulky and heavy. I don’t think they would work for pants. I’ve used Velcro instead (circles sewn on) for my aunt who had a stroke and has arthritis and can mainly use one arm and has difficulty using her better hand. Attach hook side under the button and loop side over the button hole. The shirt would then fasten right side over left. (Men’s clothing fasten left side with buttonhole over right with button.) My aunt didn’t care but the button can be moved over the buttonhole stitched close to make it resemble normal closure for a male. Can also be used at the cuffs for long sleeves. If you can’t find the dots, which are convenient but more expensive, Velcro come in strips for sewing on or with or without sticky adhesive and can be cut into whatever size works.
