It requires you to actually say something on your outgoing message. But with US Mobile, you have to have your actual voice on the outgoing message. Not that it's a big deal, but I just prefer a completely automated message rather than my own voice. True, one is for use on Verizon (Super LTE) and the other for T-Mobile (GSM). Both networks use LTE for 4G and NR for 5G, so these days most phones will work with either one. (The whole CDMA vs. GSM debacle is largely moot by now, since carriers have or are phasing out 2G/3G technologies from their networks). Typically the "Super LTE" SIM (Verizon) will give better overall coverage, whereas the "GSM" (T-Mobile) gives better 5G coverage and better speeds. (They have no option for use on on AT&T's network; if you want that you may instead consider something like Red Pcoket - they offer all three). Neither one will work abroad, whether for talk/text or data. US Mobile offers an international data-only roaming add-on, sold in increments of 1GB, 5GB or 10GB depending on destination. It is very specifically targeted though and not usable by all: * The add-on is delivered as a separate 30-day add-on line on a downloadable eSIM and not a physical SIM, so you need an eSIM capable phone that's compatible with their offering (currently only Google Pixel and iPhone). * There are some peculiar gaps in their coverage, for instance Norway, Sweden, Finland and Iceland all get 10GB international data roaming for free with their unlimited plans, but they have no options at all for Denmark. * You cannot make regular phone calls or send texts while abroad on this plan. Only data. Additionally, US Mobile does not offer international dialing from the US. So their plan might work for you if - You only communicate domestically, or - with a complementary service like Google Voice for dialing to or within specific international destinations. You just need to buy a new SIM card in the US and put it in your phone. Here is a comparison according to my personal experience. Rating 1-5, with 5 being the best. PACKAGING: USMobile: 5 Red Pocket 2 Red Pocket gomes in a "thank you card" size envelope. Very basic and unimpressive. Does not come with anything else besides the sim cards and cloudy instructions. USMobile comes with thoughtful, professional packaging. Looks beautiful. Also comes with tool to pop out sim card which is a BIG bonus and easy to follow instructions. EASY TO INSTALL: USMobile: 5 RedPocket: 1 I have an android ZTE ZMAX Pro with MetroPCS. I could only use one type of service with both. With RedPocket I had to create an APN and add very specific information. Took 15 minutes to get right. I also had to create an APN with USMobile, but had only one setting to change. Took 1 minute. SIGNAL STRENGTH: USMobile: 5 RedPocket: 1 With RedPocket I could not get signal strength in my apt (Southern California). I also lost connection while driving and using google maps. Was at mall and could not connect to fingerprint recognition apps. Could not make any calls 70% of the time.
