It included real eggs, already marked for wax pathways. Generous amounts of dye, great instructions and equipment. I'd taken one class on Pysanky egg decoration and this kit made it all worthwhile. It includes the beeswax and the heating/drawing utensils called kitska, which sort of looks like a miniature metal pipe. You heat the pipe, scrape off a bit of beeswax, and carefully reheat the wax.. a tiny funnel on the end of the pipe allows you to use it like a fountain pen, and simply put the wax on the line of pencil for the first dye. You dye from lightest color to darkest, rather like the technique for batik fabrics. The artist was generous with the supplies and advice.
