The length of the USB cable was slightly smaller from the power plug to the under cabinet where it’s been installed. Since I had a spare male-female usb cable I attached the female section of the usb connector the male section of the sensor switch and the male usb connection straight in to the usb power plug I had it from one of my old mobile phone.The sensor switch is installed under the side of the cabinet leg so it is not visible at all. So now when I walk close to the cabinet the light comes up automatically and goes off after 15 seconds - i haven't made any changes to the default settings at all as I am happy when it gets powered off. So pleased to find a solution and i don't have to bend down to power on/off the lights manually. Automation is the way forward :).With regards to the lux the place where its installed in my house gets natural light straight from the window so it doesn’t get activated when its bright, when it stars getting darker and I walk around 0-5 meters it gets activated. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works as an LED switching sensor but lux detection is poor. *by Z***I on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 January 2018* There are sensors like this available from eBay with the same or better functionality. I've noticed a lot of people don't like buying from a typical Chinese reseller or other supplier outside of the UK. If you're one of these people, this would be the option you'd go for...Personally I don't see a problem buying from China but I needed this quickly so I paid a premium and got it next day on Amazon.I initially thought that this sensor DIDN'T have a lux sensor, however I was mistaken: the lux sensor will stop the LED strip coming on if there's daylight available. The lux sensor on this item is set quite high and isn't adjustable, so unless it's very bright daylight it will always turn your LED strip on.Other than the lux (day / night) feature being quite high, this is a good sensor. It's simple to attach, it takes a standard centre positive power jack and connects to most standard LED strings with no problems.I haven't tried on anything above 12v, but it works down to 5 v.Sensor range is very good at well over 5m and the detect angle is at LEAST 100 degrees on mine, so you don't need to be face on to the sensor to be detected.If you don't mind the price and the fact it simply switch on whatever you've attached to it, pretty much regardless of ambient light levels, it's worth a look, certainly of you want it quickly and have Amazon Prime. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Cheap enough but not great for my application. *by M***N on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 July 2019* Item was cheap enough and small enough to hide effectively, but motion and light detection was hit and miss. Wouldn't detect motion in one direction, at night it activated every 6 seconds.
