This Bible looks like it will retain its sturdiness for a long time, judging by its appearance, after the constant use I've already given it. A fairly large Bible, but comfortable to hold with the material used for the cover. The new version with the "amplified" words/descriptions is more reader-friendly than the earlier version: both in the translation's grammar [sentence structure/word choice] and layout [current "amplifications" in their brackets]. This version & translation continues in dependability and accuracy. I consider the wording and sentence structure closer to the style of the ESV, or new CSB, than the more formal ASB style the Amplified Bible has used before. The study notes are well written and provide solid information. The font for the main text is easy on the eyes and easy to read. The smaller font for study notes is still comfortable to read without my glasses on. The cross references are also easy to see. There are two types: The first will be bracketed at the end of a verse to reference a verse(s) that have a direct correlation and the second (often multiple verses) will be listed at the bottom of the page to expand upon the reference(s). Together they make a formidable chain link style reference system. I also would have liked a larger concordance, but the topical concordance does address key names and subjects. I appreciate the indexing of theological notes being indexed both by location and alphabetically. Each book has an introduction and key points. Charts have been placed throughout the Bible but there is not an index for them. Deity pronouns are capitalized. Text is black letter. Old Testament quotes in the New Testament are printed in small capital letters for quick identification. The color maps are also clear and easy to look at in the back of the book. I am extremely happy with this Amplified Study Bible. It's design and features are very inviting and it has become a steady resource as well as carry-along. This amplified version is one of the best I have ever found. The print is large enough to read , the study helps are awesome, and the translation is accurate according to Hebrew and Greek word studies.
