I really like the performance after installing this pump. My old pump was 6 years old and was showing signs that it was end of life. I bought this pump as it was an upgraded from my original. This new pump is made of brass instead of plastic which will last longer. It is also an increase in wattage which helps with providing a strong consistent pressure. The coffee taste inproved significantly. Review: Worked the charm - This absolutely changed my preowned dedica. I had poor flow out of the group head, and after running descaling solution through the machine to no avail i decided to teardown the pump and valve. The rebuild wasn't amazing (due to the crimp clamps delonghi installed as well as the hot glue holding some of the pump wires) but requires a philips screwdriver and a t20 torx security bit for disassembly and reassembly. I highly recommend this to anyone suffering from underwhelming extractions or low flow rate. It was a really nice machine, we've had it for 15 years already. I tore into it over the weekend, be careful, the back cover metal is almost "knife sharp" on the edges. It's a really rugged machine and completely serviceable. Since it still heated, I surmised it had to be the pump that was defective. Per usual, Amazon had it in stock and cheap. I ordered and received it a couple of days later. It was an easy reinstall, although I had to use some teflon tape to seal the lines.
