There's just no way to get the trash bag out if it's full because it gets hung up on the lift handle and then tears holes in the bag or just won't let you get it out at all. I had to remove the handle twice and then decided I don't really need the handle at all. You can lift the receptacle out of the main unit without any issues, even without the handle, since it's so small. It's pedal still works after a couple years of use. The only thing I don't like is the way the bag is held on the inside. There are two metal bars that are supposed to "hold" the bag but they don't really do much. I just fold the bag over the edge and it has worked great.
