Well designed, good quality and lots of safety features to prevent little ones falling off or trapping fingers. Takes quite a bit of time to assemble so be prepared and also be warned that it really is an outdoor toy as it is massive with the bucket and backhoe assembled. Our Grandson absolutely loves his. He is two and a half and Santa brought it with a view to being outside in the summer time when he is that little bit older, although he has been happily digging 'trenches' in the recent snowfall. He is a fairly big lad but still has a little bit of growing to do before he will be able to put both feet down when sitting on the backhoe digger although he seems to manage by sitting slightly to one side. Similarly, it will be a good few months before he can pedal for himself but in the meantime he is quite happy for me to break my back pushing him along - so no problem! Highly recommend - for outside! Review: A three year old's dream - This was purchased for my son's third birthday. And it's perfect. OK, so assembly was a nightmare - but I did have to do it alone and quite late at night. As a two person job, it probably would have been much quicker and easier. And it's expensive. But you get what you pay for. And my son absolutely adores it. It has been played with every single day since he received it. It's big, it's fun, it's sturdy, all of which are essentials. With hindsight, I probably didn't need to pay for a model with a rear excavator, as after the initial novelty that bit has been largely ignored, but I'm hoping that will come into its own in the summer when he can use it properly outside. Or possibly when he's a bit older. It would be useful if this part could be detached without full deconstruction, and that's the only reason why I've not given it five stars. Otherwise, it's a great investment that I can see being used for years to come. Note: it's really BIG and heavy. Most of my son's 3yo frineds can't drive it. I just happen to have a big lad.
