It feels hard as a rock. But when I started "heating up" in bed last nite, this thing really works. I sleep on my side, and simply put it under my shoulder/torso area. Very cool, lasts for hours. (Have previously used a Chillow, which works similarly well but is VERY heavy, and after a few months, started leaking out of the valve. I had several Chillows, but they got sort of moldy/funky inside, and every one eventually leaked. They worked great up to that point. Then I bought one of the thinner gel filled pads. That works fantastically, at first. But a couple hours later you wake up and realize it feels like you are lying on a stovetop! The heat that is sucked out of your body just keeps building up and the small amount of gel cannot disperse the heat very well, so the pad becomes very hot!) Love the way this works, it softened up a bit after a while, I think (fell asleep). But I am VERY ANNOYED with the fact that the seller promotes this as something which is 19-1/2" x 15", when the true size is closer to 17-1/2" x 14". SEE PHOTOS. That is a 20% difference in total square inches, and MAKES A DIFFERENCE. I get very very angry with this sort of thing, as I have found several online sellers that tend to misrepresent the size of their products when it behooves them to do so. Why do that? It just makes you look BAD!! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Life Changing for the Overheated Worker! *by C***L on Reviewed in the United States on November 4, 2016* I completely love this product. I run a bit hotter than most. When I shopped for my car, the salesman wanted to tell me about the model that had heated (but not cooled seats), and I told him I was only interested in the one that had cooling. Heated seats are oppressive. I already have a heated seat 365 days a year, because my body generates too much heat as it is. So working in shared workspaces where I can't directly control the thermostat leads to me being hot and sweaty at work pretty much all the time. This thing is amazingly cool to sit on, and I'm so much more comfortable now at work than ever before! Life changing is probably too strong a phrase for a pad that cools your bum, but with how uncomfortable I always felt before on a daily basis, and how much more comfortable I feel now, it seems appropriate to use here.I saw some comments complaining about seals, and haven't had any issues with mine yet, although it's only been about a week. I'm also on the light side, 145 lb. But I love mine enough that I've ordered two, one for my bum and one for my lower back, to use in the three different areas I work, for a total of 6 cooling pads. I could cart them around but in the summertime I don't think you'd want these in the back of a very hot car, so I just bit the bullet and picked up a bunch now. My chair gets so hot regardless of the A/C temperature of the house, I just collect heat during these sessions. This cushion is the best tool I have come across since I bought a book stand to save me from neck strain-- wait, this might be better-- I can go on marathon study sessions now and stay in the zone without any distracting heat and sweat accumulating underneath me (yeah TMI but consider what this product is preventing! "Study-Butt!") The cushion is like a gel ice pack in texture, has a little heft and runs as wide as my standard office chair.I imagine taking this with me on long car trips and not having to fidget to keep my backside cool! I saw a review that said something about the seam coming apart but this seems like pretty sturdy construction, nothing leaks out whatsoever.
