The sleeves have a ribbed cuff inside the sleeve that keeps the cold out. The zipper is a nice weight and works perfectly. The snaps are all solid and you can snap it closed from the top to the bottom to keep drafts out. This coat has 5 pockets! One on the inside, 4 on the outside, 2 of which zipper closed. All pockets are very roomy. The hood is nice for added protection when it's snowing or raining! You can take the faux fir off too. I personally have left it on because it's cute! I did have to steam the coat to get the wrinkles from packing/shipping out and once I did it looked so high quality. I did not notice any smells on this coat.
