## Overview

The TAE 10X 500mL Buffer Solution is a high-quality electrophoresis buffer designed for versatility in laboratory applications. Its unique formulation of Tris, Acetic acid, and EDTA ensures reliable performance, making it ideal for both running buffers and agarose gels.

## Description

When mixed in the proper proportions with Agarose powder (100mL buffer: 1g agarose) and then boiled, it forms a gel that can be used for electrophoresis. TAE has a lower buffer capacity than TBE and linear, double-stranded DNA tends to run faster in TAE than in TBE. However, it can easily become exhausted during extended electrophoresis use. It is recommended that buffer circulation or replacement be used during extended electrophoresis to combat the lowering of the buffer capacity. It can be used both as a running buffer as well as in agarose gel. The buffer solution is a mixture of Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA), Acetic acid and Tris base.
