You may not need it as for most 1911 models your thumb should be sufficient to push down the recoil plug and spring and move the barrel bushing to the side and disassemble the weapon. We got this wrench because the Springfield loaded 1911 uses a different take-down system with the recoil spring plug and initially it was a b***h to move the bushing to takedown the weapon for cleaning and lubrication. **Q: Will this device work on a full length guide rod?** A: Absolutely NOT!!!
