## Description

Ein schrecklicher Reitunfall bringt das geordnete Leben der New Yorker Redakteurin Annie und ihrer Familie aus dem Gleichgewicht. Die 14jährige Grace wird dabei schwer verletzt und trägt auch seelisch große Wunden davon. Ihr Pferd Pilgrim überlebt nur knapp, ist völlig verstört und läßt keinen Menschen mehr an sich heran. Annie weiß, daß ihre Tochter nur über das Pferd wieder Anschluß an ein normales Leben und ihre Familie finden kann. Deshalb entschließt sie sich, die Hilfe eines Pferdeflüsterers in Anspruch zu nehmen - jemand, der die verletzte Tierseele heilen kann - und stößt dabei auf Tom Booker. Um den Einzelgänger zu treffen, macht sie sich mit Grace und Pilgrim auf die lange Reise von New York nach Montana, geleitet von der Hoffnung, daß Booker dem Pferd und damit ihrer Tochter helfen wird. Aber was sie dort erleben, verändert nicht nur das Leben ihrer Tochter...
