    .They will just about fit under the tap for easy filling and will fit between the taps for plunging the washing. THey seem sturdy enough for the job. The lid is vital for letting the clothes rest in warm water for 10 minutes between bouts of plunging.

The lid is a bit hard to open as it has one of those 'snap ring'  tops, and on a bucket this size that's a big ring. But it's big, strong and very good value. So that is a pretty minor fault.
