Didn't try halftones, but nevertheless very detailed line image on the 230 or higher. You have to experiment with exposure times based on your geographical area, time of day/year. You could use an exposure calculator to take away a bit of the guess work. I exposed between noon and 3 pm. Exposure times are nowhere near as long as traditional exposure units/halogen lamps. The thickness of your screen coating will also affect exposure time. Just setting my shop up after a 10 year hiatus from screen printing. Gave this a shot and it worked well with 2 500w halogen bulbs from 24”- took about 8 minutes. I’ve recently purchased an LED exposure unit and using a step calculator I’ve got my exposure down to 117 seconds on 125 mesh. Buying quart sizes as I don’t have an even flow of business, but it works great and lasts a long time. I’ve printed over 72 shirts on 1 screen and haven’t had problems. No pin holes, washes out easy, screens reclaim easily.
