To keep your knife sharp there was a strop and some polishing compound, which was brilliant if you are just starting. This will make an excellent present for someone as it will give them a chance to try out wood carving, giving them everything they need, from knife and wood, through to sharpening. With the instructions easy to follow, this really is a perfect little kit. I can wait to start carving my bird! Perfect for beginners. I will say that I wish there was more guidance on knife sharpening as the instructions were lacking.
