At that time, my impression was one of her having a trusted authoritative voice on women’s overall health. So, I was curious about this title, Making Life Easy. This is the very first book I’ve read by Dr. Northrup and I am glad I did. In fact, I’ve only written a handful of reviews in my life and this book is worthy of recognition. I have not read a book with such authority, relatability to the author, honesty and candor mixed together so congruently. I actually cringed on some parts of the book because I felt like the author was laying everything on the line professionally and personally to help the reader. Like after experiencing the travails and joys of life, she’s come to share her journey. I felt lucky to be the recipient of all the knowledge that was shared. What was particularly interesting to me was how Dr. Northrup was able to include valuable information, and guidance on the entire PEMS of our existence. I mean the Physical, Emotional, Mental and Spiritual aspect that address our whole being. To compose all these aspects into one book in such a caring and loving way is just what I needed to grow on my path. Specifically, I really appreciated the definition of the ego, effects of sitting too much, her sharing of exactly what supplements she takes (even though they may not apply totally to me, it was nice to see the openness and honesty), information on gluten, Astrology, the explanation of fascia in our bodies, EFT and a new phrase to use while performing EFT, the importance of community and finding your tribe, the visualization on entering a situation meeting new people, all the exercises throughout the book, the book resources shared throughout the book and the listing at the end, the professional studies, and the personal stories The section on sexuality and Life Force caused me to cringed due to my upbringing and cultural conditioning, making the topic at hand uncomfortable to even read. LOL However, I read with one eye open and the connections that Dr. Northrup made between sexuality, Life Force and the benefit to our lives is worth the read. Even Napoleon Hill’s, Think and Grow Rich made the cut. I am a big fan of Florence Scovel Shinn and she is even mentioned. So the mixing of classics and new information just made everything flow in a relevant way for today. I felt like Dr Northrup was really thoughtful in the offering of Making Life Easy. I have already incorporated some of the exercises and guidance provided into my life. I believe this book is a standout for men and women. It’s masterfully written, including so much valuable life-changing information. This is not a book to read and forget. She dropped the mic on this one. Thank you Dr Northrup. I love her writing style and personal stories. She shows her human side of which we can all relate. This book is rich in information about physical, spiritual and emotional health. I highlighted quite a bit of it and have gone back to re-read parts too. There are also references to other sources to further read about each topic.
