I am a novice at rowing and found the resistance was not enough. However, due respect to seller who refunded with no problem.

As reported by the other reviewer, the resistance is a little light. To get decent exercise I pulled hard on it and it didn't take long before the machine failed. I  took it apart and managed to mend it but in the process I found that a key part was hopelessly under-engineered and had completely worn down. Eventually I replaced it with a more expensive fluid rower which is better made but has even lighter resistance.
