It is an excellent series for his age group (maybe 7-12) and has a similar design to Minecraft. It is a hero-and-villain storyline, with mobs they have to fight, so it is very engaging for young boy readers. The page count is in the mid-100s, but the letter sizes are on the bigger end, and a lot of pages have pictures.
