Upon removal from the shipping box I noticed one of the pins that hold the latch had separated and would not keep the lid closed at all. Further inspection shows a metal pin is loosely fitted into plastic end caps. They expect them to stay while off roading? To solve this problem i installed some small bolts with blue lock-tite in place of the pins. This worked so much better for me. You can definatly tell there were some shortcuts made and I wonder if the genuine can-am box is any different. I also had to screw the box down as the 2 linq fasteners are not enough to keep it secured. All I needed was a drill and a wrench to attach the hooks to the back edge of the box (which may not even be necessary) and the LinQ attachments twisted right into my luggage rack.Unless you just have to have a Can Am logo molded in for a good chunk of extra change, this is the trunk for you. I decided on this size as opposed to the largest size available and I'm glad I did.
