It reminds you that following Christ is rewarding and yet not easy. It reminds you to surrender. It reminds you to keep on praying - not just because God wants to hear from you but because He wants to speak with you. It reminds you that you are loved. It reminds you that honesty is the best policy. This book has made me laugh and cry but especially made me realise that the fights I want to have with people need to be taken to prayer. Yes, the fighting should happen in the 'War room'; the room where you share with God what you need, thank Him for all He's done; and then let God fill you with His might, power and strength to fight the enemy. This book will remind you that everyone is human and many are trying their best, so see the best in everyone; and anything else take to the Lord before you take it to them. I know it is a novel, and therefore fiction, but you get the feeling that all the things in it could really happen. It rings true, and the uses of scripture are appropriate. I found it very helpful myself and started praying far more, which has been an enormous help, keeping me calm in difficulties.
