It took some digging, but you can Google instructions on how to find it. - I see some reviews that say that there is no pinyin. There is definitely pinyin, at least in HSK1. I haven't purchased the more advanced books, so I can't speak to those. But don't worry, there is definitely pinyin. - Lastly, some reviews mentioned that they were unable to get the CD to work. The book itself has lots of pictures, pinyin, and characters written in a way that is easy to pick up. The chapters are short and simple, but the explanations (in Chinese and English) are really helpful and insightful. I would definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a good beginner text. For people who do not have a way to read disk with their computers: I went to a nearby public library, and very easily pulled the files to the desktop and then pulled them to my thumb drive (USB drive). And the quality of the recording is very clear. The whole book is black and white, including the photos.
