It is easy to use.After a week of use, we find this works pretty well for dusting hardwood floors.It picks up cat hair fairly well. It does collect dirt too.However, don't expect it to pickup loose pieces of kitty litter. It shoves them around to corners.You will still occasionally need to vacuum your floors, particularly the edges/corners, but not quite as often.Our cats are older and seem to tolerate the movement of the Robomop w/o scaring them.After purchasing this I went to Robomop's (formerly Robomaid) website and discovered there is a newer version of the Allegro being introduced - Allegro Energy+. It appears to the be the same as this model but with a stronger rechargeable battery. The new version has a longer working time of 3 hours over the 1.2 hours of this version.I suspect this is just the result of a replacement battery. I can't tell if there is anything else different but for the color of the unit.As of 09/23/17, this newer version does not appear on Amazon.Robomop is supposedly brining out a wet type of product in the fall of 2017.Not sure if the randomness of this dusting machine will translate well to a wet version.It might be worth a try if the price is right.The dusting skirt that does the dirty work is removable (velcro attached) so it can be washed.You are probably going to want another skirt.You can buy the same or make your own skirts out of micro-fiber cloth cut into a similar ring shape using the original as a guide.It may not be as stiff as the original but it still seems to work.******* UPDATE AFTER Months *****My wife liked it at first but does not use it much anymore.This robomop tends to push dirt/hair to the edges of the room where you will likely need to vacuum it up. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Gets into all the nooks and crannies and then some! *by D***T on Reviewed in the United States on February 8, 2017* Works great. My only complaint is that only one reusable "mop" is provided and none are available except from England at an inflated price. Disposables are available but they don't seem to work as well. I would buy two of these except one covers my 2600 sq ft home just fine. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works well, with advantages and disadvantages compared with O-Cedar duster *by D***S on Reviewed in the United States on May 19, 2018* I bought this because it seems the O-Cedar duster has been discontinued. (Mine had stopped working after a year and half, but I would have been happy to buy another.) At $39.99 for a used O-Cedar, I figured I'd try this robomop. While I think the O-Cedar does clean slightly better, and seems more sturdy and just nice aesthetically (the O-Cedar kind of waltzes through the room, whereas the robomop kind of spastically jerks around), the robomop has some definite advantages. A brilliantly simply design (just a ball rolling around inside a cage) means no moving parts in contact with long hair-- that means not having to periodically cut out long hair that has gotten wrapped around axles. Also, this one dosen't get stuck as easy as the O-Cedar. Finally-- and this is a big advantage-- it takes AA batteries (one AA battery, to be specific). The unit itself functions as a recharger for the AA battery, so you can use it and then plug it in to recharge (USB only included; you will need to have your own plug or use a computer, etc.). However, if you use rechargeable AAs like I do, you have a constantly rotating supply in the house. All of my rechargeable AAs work in the robomop. That means that when the robomop runs out of charge, I can simply replace the battery with a charged one and pop the depleted one in the charger. So, theoretically, no down time for the robomop as long as I'm around. That is the biggest plus, I would say.
