Review: love it - I finally finished The Woman in Me by Britney Spears last night. I loved this book and the way it was written I felt as if I was in the room and Britney was just telling her story, I have never felt so bad but also inspired by someone so much. I will admit I was one of those people that at times believed the media and often thought “what in the world is up with this girl” but over time and really looking at what the media was putting out my heart went out to this girl, now grown woman. I just didn’t understand how so many people could just be so cruel. She is a human being for God’s sake and people treated her like she was put on this earth to be their entertainment, atm machine, or robot and don’t even get me started on her family. I am a mother of two beautiful, strong, and independent young ladies and if anyone, I mean any one so much as tried to come at them in a harmful way I would go full Mama bear on them and protect them the best way I can. I did not see anything of the sort of her family protecting her, hell, her mother has even posted on Instagram calling her out saying she didn’t throw her possessions away, Did she had them hidden and Britney thought she did? I don’t get it why try to call her out, you are her mother you should’ve been protecting her, loving her, nurturing her, you carried her for 9 months, a mother’s bond should’ve overtaken above everything. I just can’t wrap my head around what her family has done to her, it is just unforgiveable. There should be a special place in hell for her father or lack there of because that is not a father, he is worse than a deadbeat dad, what a shame. I know that anyone that knows me knows I am usually a big believer in there are three sides to a story – his side, her side, and the truth, however we all saw with our own eyes that she was not protected at all. She was used as a show monkey and her light was taken away from her. This brings me to another of these cruel people… Justin Timberlake, he may have been young and stupid and not aware of his dumb moves, but he is a grown man now, it’s not too late to speak up and apologize if he hasn’t done so already. Then you have Kevin whatever his last name is, oh man he really took the term of baby daddy with the best or shall I say the worst of them again we will never know everything probably and maybe I shouldn’t jump fully to just Britney’s side, but nope as a mom that raised her daughter’s primarily by herself and endured struggles, Kevin deserves a seat along with her dad in that bus to hell. Sorry not sorry. I became a Britney fan because my oldest simply adored her and still does, I remember for her 10th birthday I wanted to get tickets to take her to a Britney concert and unfortunately, I couldn’t afford it and my daughter just like Britney having this heart of gold was like its okay mom, that is a lot of money (well for us it was) Anyway, I recommend this book to anyone, look at her side for a change. Britney made me see that celebrities are more than just our entertainment and that was long before this book came out and now after reading it, it fully cemented that in me. She was definitely taken advantage of and abused on a level no one should ever have been, I pray for her healing and her peace. There is a part in her book where she mentions something about anyone else in her shoes would’ve probably just ended it, committed suicide but she didn’t, and she believes it was God that saved her. Whether it was God that gave her the strength to push through and the heart to fight or not she is stronger than anyone has given her an ounce of credit for because I’ll be honest, I don’t know if I could’ve done it. I cried for her, and my heart broke for all she had to endure, as a mother even though I am only maybe 8 years older than Britney, I would’ve just hugged her and told her it’s okay there are people out here that do love and believe in you. Sending nothing but positive vibes and healing prayers to her. I don’t really feel comfortable giving a rating on someone’s life experience, but I will give this book a 5-star rating and a huge thank you to Britney Spears for sharing her story. I did feel she kept a lot out or maybe glossed over some things, but you know what that is okay, she told what she was comfortable with and what she was able to discuss. That is strength.
Review: Unbelievably impressive. Her torn life on paper. - I'm only a third way in. Shipped lightening fast. The print quality of the book is very good. I like the rose and the purple foil, they captured her taste here and will look bomb on my bookshelf. As for the writing it's good. Amazing, no. But they painted an incredible picture of her life. Much better writing than I thought to be honest. I was expecting more scattered blurbs throughout the book but the way it's presented does honor her experience, and sounds like her up to an extent. Now, I do think the ghost writer went verbose in some areas that were unnecessary which derailed her voice in my head but I imagine getting the whole picture would be difficult. I was hoping for a thicker book as she's been through a lot. So I am a bit disappointed at that but nevertheless it's an interesting read thus far. As for Britney's life story. I have to say they were smart in starting with her lineage and she didn't hold back keeping her family accountable from the gate. Good on her for having conviction. I suddenly found myself understanding little quirks, connecting the dots, certain things would suddenly click in my head. For example her British accent and her relationship with a lynchpin matriarch elder. Very cool build up. Laying the ground work for her future decisions by presenting us with complex childhood family dynamics really has me understanding her choices and quirks much better than I ever realized I needed to be deep in thought of. Sometimes we judge from a place of pity or outsider perspective instead of compassion. Now I see the soft gentle feminine side of her mindset that we knew when she was younger start to peek through the pages. It's that sweet part of her soul that she doesn't show much nowadays, for good reason of course as she's been deeply hurt and damaged by other's greed, but that delicate nature is part of why most of us were charmed by her. I hope she finds her way back one day. She's been through a lot and I found myself relating to things she'd been through, and feeling deeply saddened by her sense of insecurity in childhood. Her insights correlate along with many of my own life experiences and traumas. I was taken aback by her growth in reflection, as one would believe anger would be the easy way to portray her story, not the case here, it's her appreciation for her past that has earned my deep respect beyond what I thought I had possessed prior to reading. Her story with her brother was touching and softened my distain for his participation in the matter of handling her affairs. Although I hope he is held accountable someday. It shows how loving and innocent she was and how grave a loss she has suffered, for it is those who are selfless that don't speak up only to suffer the most. Such a contrast to the presentation of her character in the media. Thus far this book is an excellent read! ------ To be Continued * I'm looking forward to reading through this book in it's entirety and will update when I'm done. One star for the writing not sounding like her in some places. I will change accordingly.

Bought for my daughter. She found it very interesting. It didn’t take her long to read the whole thing and she told me she really enjoyed it. I was planning on reading it next but her friends got to it first and I ended up buying my own copy. It is a very interesting read especially if you’re a fan.
