A: As silent as a movement can be. You may hear a slight tick, but it is really not noticeable.

A: I am using alkaline in my clock and it is working really well.

**Q: works when the clock is laying flat, but doesn't when I put on the wall? Any ideas?**
A: Not sure. Mine works fine on the wall. My suggestion is to check that all the clock hands have clearance as they rotate. One time, with another clock repair, the second hand did not clear the minute hand and the clock did not work properly. I had to bend the second hand up a little so that it cleared the minute hand, and then the clock worked fine. Hope this helps.
