Why? I don't know if everyone does this but I fold the top flap back behind my kindle when I use it. This has a rigid book binding and you can't do that. It is a book cover with no pages is my best description. I did like the mounting device, a reusable sticky pad. I am sending it back, I need to fold the cover behind. I really like the "look" of it. I do prefer a case that has the auto sleep feature, and I prefer to be able to fold the front cover back to present one flat surface.
