This scale does that. I have not had any issues with it. I did notice it took a second to register, but, it goes over that in the manual. I also have the previous version. (However, I find the Ozeri frustrating to use and therefore don't use it often. I purchased this scale because it weighs in relatively small increments--grams instead of ounces.
