I purchased this book plus others including Funk/R&BGuitar Thaddeus Hogarth, New Orleans Funk Guitar Shane Theriot, Funkmasters Allan Slutsky/Chuck Silverman and Funk play along Hal Leonard.I've still to work my way through all of these but I would say that Funk Guitar by Ross Bolton would be a great first purchase as it's nicely laid out and easy to follow. Very often I think books can be overwhelming with the amount of material and really act more like reference books but Bolton's book is very achievable and realistic.This book took me about a day to go through BUT I've been playing a while and still found it very useful.
