The cards are nice quality and are clear and easy to understand. One of the things I enjoy most in games are wooden pieces and this has those as different resources (fruits, grains, flowers), and feel nice to handle.Rulebook:Easy to understand and clearGameplay:Played in three phases - assembling tribe (card arranging/resource gain); attracting new apes (acquire a new tribe member); rest (clean up). There are various levels of monkeys and you want to gain the better ones such as apes and orangutans as they give you better abilities, but each is different in their own way. At the start of your turn you draw four cards and you can rearrange them how you like, but you are trying to close off as many boxes as you can, which then gives you points, tokens, etc. The better the card, the more you get. Then there are things like putting "batteries" in electronics left behind by the humans that give you a variety of different abilities like gaining points, exchanging resources, etc. Ultimately, the first person to get to 80 points is the winner.Conclusion:This is an enjoyable game that is really easy to learn and fast to play. Every game takes less than an hour and once you have a turn you automatically get what is happening, so the complexity is very low. Great game for kids and families that plays fast while you race to 80 points. Recommend it! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fun Deck Builder & Puzzle game *by S***N on September 19, 2023* This is a fun deck builder with some interesting puzzle solving elements thrown in. Each turn you draw 4 primates from your deck, and how you arrange them determines what resources you collect (you only get to use the boxes on them that are closed on all sides). You then get to recruit one of the 4 types of apes, and each favors a resource or ability (but not exclusively) so your engine doesn't end up hyper focused. There is a trashing mechanic that lets you trim your deck down as you play, too.The core rules don't take too long to learn but the strategy of how to arrange you cards and whether to activate a trade takes a while to master, which is a good way to get people interested and coming back for a second game.My only complaint is that there isn't much player interaction beyond watching your opponents actions to decide on when you should switch from engine-building to scoring. At the end of each round you have the opportunity to trade a couple resources to copy the bonus one of you neighbors got but it isn't much.The components are good, the cards aren't cheap and the wooden resources & score tokens are all painted well.
