Other relatives visiting at Christmas also raved about the sound quality—even if they didn't necessarily care for my choice of music. The sound quality is top-notch, and the design is beautiful. It comes with a "Quick Setup Guide," making operation simple and intuitive. Although I didn't really need to use the guide, the seller followed up with an email to ensure everything was working correctly—and it certainly was; it continues to perform beautifully to this day. Such after-sales service is truly impressive. The cassette player is positioned on the side and looks a bit like an afterthought, but it is perfect for digitizing cassette content into MP3 format. While vinyl records hold up well over time without degrading, cassette tapes inevitably deteriorate (the adhesive binding the magnetic coating to the base tape fails, causing the coating to flake off and rendering the tape unplayable). Consequently, the built-in cassette player meets this need perfectly. Just plug it in, flip the switch, and enjoy the music again—just like in the old days.

**Q: What mode features are available?**
A: There are many modes, you can choose according to your needs.

**Q: Can I play smaller records?**
A: Yes, the insert to play 45s is to the upper right of the platen, btw it and the tone arm.

**Q: Will this convert cassette tapes to mp3 and/or cd?**
A: Yes it will convert any output (Radio, Cassette, CD, or Phono) to MP3 which can be recorded to either a USB or memory card.  However, the system can not record directly to CD.  You would have to use the usb or memory card to create an audio CD using a computer with a CD burner, or other CD read/write device.

**Q: How good are the speakers for CD playback and turntable playback?**
A: The speakers, at 5-1/2 x 9 x 5 deep, are fairly good.  Reasonable fidelity, handles higher volume, um, okay.  These are not concert-grade speakers, but they do quite nicely in 15 x 22 room with paneled walls and hardwood floor (my rec. room).  Many (!) years ago I had a set of $1,500 Boston Acoustics speakers that would make the neighbors - the next street over - complain, but these won't blast that loud.  Since most everyone now wears earphones or headphones for to listen to their concert hall - grade music, I'm not all that critical of the speakers that come as part of a $150 unit that plays records / CDs / tapes just about as well as my (former) $4,000 AM / FM  / tape deck / turntable setup in the 1980's ever did.
