My first one just died after about a year. The numbers faded quickly and even with fresh batteries, it wouldn't turn on. I'm on my second one, and this one I have to put a new battery in it just about every time I use it (I use it at least once a month when I make yogurt). Not sure why, but batteries die rapidly in this things. I've tried several different brands of batteries and it doesn't matter, this somehow just drains them quickly. There aren't many devices like this on the market so hopefully they can work the kinks out of this that affects it's durability and dependability because the overall design is great. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great product *by K***R on Reviewed in the United States on March 5, 2019* Like the German cheese cutter, this is a product I never knew I was missing from my life.Candy-making may be my version of hell. I am that person in the infomercial whisking frantically with one hand and holding a candy thermometer in the other, while simultaneously trying to turn down the burner with my toes. I only dabble in the sugary arts, but I have OCD and absolutely cannot tolerate a sticky sensation anywhere on my skin. Having one less thing to fiddle with goes a long way to smoothing the process for me. It's cleaner, it's more convenient, and it's easier to operate and clean.
