To patch this there is a knotch where the black seal goes. Once completely dry , using the plumbers tape wrap it around 4x from bottom up. Once done go over it to seal firm with your hands. Once putting the seal you will need to add pressure to seat where it belongs, after that always tight it up slowly and test to see if that holds .
