Stowing the hose -- it wraps around the unit and is secured by elastic -- is a bit of a bear, and I end up taking it off and carrying it separately. The hose accessories (but not the hose and the adapter that goes on it) are friction fit and tend to fall apart while you're using them. These quibbles aside, it does exactly what it should, and for that reason and its bargain price, I'm giving it five stars. Works great. **Q: What is the difference between this machine and a vacuum?** A: This machine IS a vacuum, and a very good one. With the supplied filterse it meets requirements for lead based paint projects as required by the epa. It's also a portable dust collection system. With the right adapters for your miter saw or table saw's dust port, plug vacuum into the wall and plug table saw or chop saw into the electric outlet of the vacuum. Soon as you hit the trigger and cut a piece of wood, vacuum kicks on and catches majority of sawdust. Another great feature is how the dual filtration system backflushes one filter as the other runs and vice versa. **Q: Is it possible to get a 2 1/2 diameter hose for this unit? I'm worried the 1 1/2" hose will get clogged when used for planning wood** A: I'd suggest using it with a planner might not be ideal. Instead of dust, a planner produces mostly chips, hence all the clogging. For a planner your best bet is a real dust collector, with a 4"+ hose and 600+ CFM, moving more air at a lower pressure. Just my 2 cents but you do what you can. **Q: Is this a wet/dry vacuum?** A: Yes.
